What a title huh! I am may be dreaming but I think Beijing 2008 will be a history in the making for Malaysian Athletes. So it is a dream for me to call all Malaysian athletes to Beijing Olympic as “Heroes”.

This is the moment for all and let’s you and me the ordinary Malaysians give our full support to these Malaysian Heroes. They all are now in Beijing. Let’s pray for their Success and do Malaysians proud in the Olympic. Malaysia has never won an Olympic gold medal since Malaysia’s first participation in 1956.For the record, Malaysia’s previous Olympic Games Medal Tally

  • Year 1956 to 1988, Malaysian Olympic athletes did not win any medal from previous games.
  • XXV Olympic Games 1992 in Barcelona – Brother Rasid Sidek and Jalani Sidek won Malaysia’s first Olympic medal, when they won the bronze medal in the Men’s Badminton Doubles.
  • XXVI Olympic Games 1996 in Atlanta – Cheah Soon Kit and Yap Kim Hock won Malaysia’s second Olympic medal, when they won the silver medal in the Men’s Badminton Doubles event. Rashid Sidek emulated the feat of his elder brothers four years earlier when he won the bronze medal in the Men’s Badminton Singles event.

That is why I told you, Beijing 2008 Olympic will be the special Olympic for Malaysia. My guts feeling said, we are going to get the first elusive Gold from Beijing 2008. Why? Don’t believe me!
