Why is it important to improve one self, including you and me

It has been a week I have not write anything here. Sorry guys, my office work load is huge, the last one week. I am here again. Cheers! Hurrah! 🙂

In this hard time of the economy situation with fuel price hike, rice price skyrocketing, food shortage, we need to be composed. Am I right?

Sometimes, when all our doubts, fears and insecurities wrap ourselves up, we always come up with the idea of “I wish I was somebody else.” This is just an excuse. More often than not, we think and believe that someone or rather, most people are better than us.- when in reality, the fact is, most people are more scared than us. Believe me, they are in the same boat like us.

You spot a totally eye-catching girl sitting by herself at a party, casually sipping on a glass of juicy orange juice. You think to yourself, “she looks so perfectly calm and confident.” But if you could read through her naked mind, you would see a bunch of clouds of thoughts and you might just be amazed that she’s thinking “are people talking about why I am seated here alone?… Why don’t guys find me attractive? …I don’t like my ankles, they look too skinny… I wish I was as intelligent as my best friend.”

We look at a young business entrepreneur and say “Wooh… what else could he ask for?” He stares at himself at the mirror and murmur to himself, “I hate my big eyes… I wonder why my friends won’t talk to me… I hope mom and dad would still work things out.”

Isn’t it funny? We look at other people, envy them for looking so outrageously perfect and wish we could trade places with them, while they look at us and thinks of the same thing. We are insecure of other people who themselves are insecure of us. We suffer from low self-esteem, lack of self-confidence and lose hope in self improvement because we are enveloped in quiet desperation.

Sometimes, you notice that you have an irritating habit like biting off your finger nails, having a foul mouth, and you – of all people, is the last to know.

I have a friend who never gets tired of talking. And in most conversations, he is the only one who seems to be interested in the things he has to say. So all of our other friends tend to avoid the circles whenever he’s around, and he doesn’t notices how badly he became socially handicapped – gradually affecting the people in his environment.

One key to self improvement is to LISTEN and TALK to a trusted friend. Find someone who you find comfort in opening up with even the most gentle topics you want to discuss. Ask questions like “do you think I am ill-mannered?”, “Do I always sound so argumentative?”, “Do I talk too loud?”, “Does my breath smell?”, “Do I ever bore you when we are together?”. In this way, the other person will obviously know that you are interested in the process of self improvement. Lend him your ears for comments and criticisms and don’t give him answers like “Don’t exaggerate! That’s just the way I am!” Open up your mind and heart as well. And in return, you may want to help your friend with constructive criticism that will also help him improve himself.

One of Whitney Houston’s songs says “Learning to love yourself is the greatest love of all.” True enough. In order to love others, you must love yourself too. Remember, you cannot give what you do not have.

Before telling other people some ways on how to improve themselves, let them see that you yourself is a representation and a product of self improvement. Self improvement makes us better people, we then inspire other people, and then the rest of the world will follow.

Stop thinking of yourselves as second-rate beings. Forget the repetitive thought of “If only I was richer… if only I was thinner” and so on. Accepting your true self is the first step to self improvement. We need to stop comparing ourselves to others only to find out at the end that we’ve got 10 more reasons to envy them. Remember, God has created every human being fairly. There is no difference each of us in the eyes of the God.

We all have our insecurities. Nobody is perfect. We always wish we had better things, better features, better body parts, etc. But life need not to be perfect for people to be happy about themselves. Self improvement and loving yourself is not a matter of shouting to the whole world that you are perfect and you are the best. It’s the virtue of acceptance and contentment. When we begin to improve ourselves, we then begin to feel contented and happy.

How to create credibility?

Guys today I had a small discussion with a fellow friend at my office. We talk casual until to a point we arrive at this topic. (great world, we did discuss about other things but I could relate that to online business . . . .that is the beauty of knowledge).

So the question is How? Well in summary I will point them out here.

It got to be a win-win situation, or else you will end up losing. On the internet where the communication is instant, if your reputation sours, your going to hide somewhere!

Okay these are few points for you to think about:

  1. Socializing Power – Social power is basically your ability to interact effectively with people and to bring the best out of them. If you could interact, socialize, negotiate and communicate, you are pretty much basing your credibility on this socializing power. My advise is do not overdo it, so watch the balance.
  2. Expert Power – This is a kind of power to those who have a combination of legitimate and information power. They are experts in the field for an extensive area of knowledge. So people tend to respect them. So we must be one. Be an expert in our field by providing lots of information to subscribers. This is the way to go, and if you are the kind that likes to read voraciously, then internet marketing is definitely your cup of tea! And my advise is always be humble when you share your knowledge. Respect other views too. As I said it must be a win-win situation.
  3. Information Power – You are the owner of the knowledge. Your are the expert and know the secret to the knowledge or information. I would advise that if you are an information power holder or guardian, keep upgrading your information sources and your power will grow into expert power.
  4. Legitimate Power – This is what I called an Executive Power. When you are in a formal position of authority, your have legitimate power. As a chairman of a board of directors, you have legitimate power. As a coach or trainer, you have legitimate power. This power will create your credibility, but do not assume that just because you are a boss to 10,000 people, that others will automatically listen to you. Just be careful with this power.
  5. Coercive Power – This is where we must be extra careful. Here is one example. One day, my staff were scolded over the phone by an unreasonable customer. My subordinate heard about it and called the other guy to reason with him and ended up being insulted instead. So in return, my subordinate shouted at him to stop victimizing other people just to get a rise from them. If your coercive power is directed to protect those under your care, your credibility soars!
  6. Reward Power – If I gave you $100, would you like me more? Most probably but not if I gave everyone else $500. Reward power has an issue in that you need to be FAIR. So as an internet marketers, we give out a ton of FREE bonuses, win clients over, then help to build a long term relationship with them. Do beware, such power is only externally motivating and does not always help in a long term relationship. It is just the beginning!

The Most Obvious Internet Success Secret that many misses

What is the most obvious Internet Success Secret that everyone misses? It is Learning skill. Yes, learning skills are the most important in this arena and of course in any business venture we went to embark on. Without the learning skill, you are shaky, because in two or three months along the rocky highway of the internet world, there are many dynamic changes and this is when, if you are not prepared, your primary stream of income is doomed. I have been into this situation before and I feel almost demoralized but knowing that I am a stubborn nuts, I keep coming back and starts to learn the correct way.

Nowadays you guys are very lucky because there are many gurus out there who are willing to give their first hand tips at a lower cost. During my days when I started in the year 2005, the learning investment is huge. Now it is better for you since the US currency in going down when compared to Ringgit Malaysia.

Another issue is which many people do not know is about the people. Yes, it is about you, your friends, your neighbor, and me. Why? There are methods to be learned in this business or arena BUT if you do not take ACTION nothing will happen. That is the TRUE fact. It is not about the studying but the METHOD of studying. The moment one guru teach a person how to learn rapidly, and they took off and start achieving amazing results . . . .IF they take ACTION.

The pre-requisites are very simple, and yet many people are lazy and skeptical. They volunteer their first step but they balk at the prospect of moving on because of they realize that there are real costs to the business that they never prepared themselves for.

In this business, it can cost you a lot of money, or it could make you a lot of money. It is your choice.

The fact is, if you do make money, any amount that you spend is just simply an investment. The return on investment (ROI), however, is really up to you to control, assess and decide.

Similarly, it’s not “having” the business, but the method of “managing” the business. Do you know how to run a business? Do you know how to manage your learning so that you can use the strategies? The trouble is that many people do not have the patience to work on the business. They end up working in the business, and that makes the whole business somewhat tedious. So my advise is . . . . .

Keep learning, never stop learning, starts to have strategy and be innovative.

What you see is What you will be

In this fine sunny Sunday in Malaysia, I am sitting at my patio and of course with a cup of coffee and this notebook, I am writing this interesting topic. Few minutes ago I just saw a movie title: “Brooke Ellison Story”. Who is she? I am not going to tell you more about Brooke but instead what is the moral of the movie. If you need to read more about Brooke just visit her website at www.brookeellison.com

Briefly I would to highlight here that Brooke Ellison (20 October 1978) is the first quadriplegic to graduate from Harvard University. In 2000, she was selected by her fellow students to speak at the University’s commencement ceremonies.

Ellison was struck by a car in 1990 at age 11, while crossing a street on her first day of junior high school, leaving her paralyzed from the neck down and ventilator-dependent. Brooke and her mother, Jean Ellison, live with their family in Stony Brook, New York.

Ellison’s struggles are depicted in The Brooke Ellison Story directed by fellow quadriplegic Christopher Reeve.

Okay guys, let we go a bit deeper. Why we want to mingle around with Successful people?

Surround ourselves with successful people – that’s what a lot of counselors suggested us to do. It’s very good advice, because, to quote the proverb, “What you see is What you’ll be”. What you surround yourself with, the thoughts and feelings that you have and the people and the things around you, is what your subconscious mind believes you want – even if you hate it.

What your subconscious mind believes you want is exactly what it prompts you to go after. Even if what you really want is great success and happiness, if you wear drab clothes, watch depressing TV programs, surround yourself with clutter and hang out with people who complain a lot, you’ll be a miserable failure. That’s what you see – that’s what you’ll be.

Surrounding yourself with positivity and success, though, boosts your energy and confidence and inspires you to go and get some of the same.

So one significant key to success is to surround yourself with positive, inspiring, successful people. There are several reasons and benefits for doing this. It will elevate your mood on a constant basis. You will begin to unconsciously work towards success. You’re motivation and passion will increase. And most importantly, all of these factors combined will help you build enough momentum to break through obstacles in your way. Let’s explore these benefits a little deeper.

Surrounding yourself with successful people constantly elevates your mood.

Success breeds success. And the best way to breed it faster is to be around it 24/7. Surround yourself with positive people, who are striving towards similar goals. They will support and motivate you to strive towards your goals, and they work towards theirs. Being around success will put you in a good mood. Learn it here, leadership-and-motivation-training which I found a great site for you to get the right idea and how to get started.

Your unconscious mind will begin to automatically think & act success.

When you have successful people around you on a regular basis, you’re brain or your mind recognizes that your environment is made of mostly successful, goal-oriented people. Your subconscious mind will accept success as normal and propel you faster towards your goals than you could imagine. Once your subconscious mind understands and and accepts your target goal, its a straightforward path to success.

Your motivation & passion for your goals will increase substantially.

Seeing your friends succeed around you, will excite and motivate you towards your goal. Their passion and drive will overflow onto you, leaving you no choice but to pursue YOUR passion. Your chances of success will increase exponentially when surrounded by these kind of people.

So my advise is, no matter what conditions you are in now, just leave that behind and have a positive mind to move forward and starts to mingle around with successful people. For online entrepreneurs in Malaysia, I would like you to join Internet Millionaires Club today and starts to believing in yourselves. We are just an ordinary guy just like you but have Big dreams just like all others from all over the world. Join us now and let’s move forward together.

I’m sorry, you just can’t try.

“Either you do or you don’t. There’s so such thing as try.” Yoda Master. If you have watched Star Wars before, you’ll know who’s Yoda Master.

When I was given a task to complete during my job employment days, I’ll say, “I’ll try, boss.”

You can’t try. My friend, there’s no such thing as try.

It’s either you do it or, not.

That’s it.

Let’s examine…

Okay, try to read this article now.

Nope.

You didn’t try.

Why not you try harder?

Okay, let’s try to do it again.

Try reading.

Sorry, you failed again.

You’re reading. You’re not trying to read. You’re DOING IT.

Or you don’t.

But in this case, you are otherwise you won’t be reading this sentence.

Many people try to be wealthy.

Many people try to be happy.

Many people try to be more loving.

Many people try to achieve their goal.

Many people just… TRY.

I’m going to sound harsh…

FORGET ABOUT TRYING!

Here’s a simple action plan for you:

Step #1 ? Evaluate your options available.

Step #2 ? Make a strong decision whether you want to do it or not.

Step #3 ? Do it. (Or don’t)

Step #4 ? See and evaluate the outcome.

Step #5 ? Learn from your action.

The steps above that I’ve laid out for you, worth thousands of dollars. Just follow that action plan and you’ll see how much more you’ll accomplish in life.

So if you want to change, CHANGE.

Don’t try to change. That’s sissy talking.

Do it for your own future.

Bruce Lee once said,

“Life is never stagnation. It is a constant movement, unrhythmic movement, as well as constant change. Things live by moving and gain strength as they go.”

Prepare to change. I’ve changed the way how to manage a business. If I was still doing it the way I used to do 5 years ago, I think I’ll be broke and don’t even know what happened.

If I’m treating my new girlfriend how I used to treat my previous ex-girlfriend, I think we would have broke up from now.

I know you can do it. You don’t need to try anymore.
