There are mixed reactions on using EntreCard. When I first using it in January 08, I do not give it a serious method to gain traffic. I just use the EntreCard system simply because everybody are using it. That is the truth. But after 3 months I found out the traffic that I getting is not bad. Ahah! see the stats below:

As you could see, I do not do a lot of dropping, but I do received a lots of drops.

I also earn a lot of credits via ads and via drops of course.

In today’s market, Price vs Quality, which is more important ?

An interesting topic to discuss, Price vs Quality, or Quality vs Price.

One of the interesting things about the market today is that despite relatively high valuations across asset classes globally, within the World market or the US market many of the biggest and the best companies are just not expensive relative to the rest of the market and relative to their own historical valuations.

Being an engineer by qualification myself I have a dilemma. I think many engineers also have the same dilemma. We, Engineers are constantly being asked to achieve two seemingly conflicting goals: assure the high quality of products while keeping costs low. While it may seem futile to try to resolve these two conflicting issues, a structured approach towards cost and quality can help, especially when it comes to passives, electromechanical devices, interconnects and connectors, many of which are commodity products.

According to a survey done in Germany, it says, Price is more important than quality for the majority of Europeans when it comes to grocery shopping. Germany, France and Poland are the most price conscious nations in Europe, while the Italians clearly place a higher value on quality. There are equally as many differences between Europeans when it comes to eating out as opposed to preparing a meal at home. These are some of the findings of GfK’s European Consumer Survey 2004. No doubt that this survey is for food products but the issue is the same which is Price vs Quality.

But as a human being, we certainly believe in this statement, “Is price important, yes it is…but no price is a good price if you don’t like the quality!

Overall it is all depends on what are you purchase. Some products we need really good quality and in some products price is more critical. But if price is chosen, you should never forgo quality completely. Again as I said earlier, it is all depends on the products that you need to buy.

Looking at today’s world market, price is most important. People are buying things based on price. People need to save money in this hard time. First and foremost is the question of price and consumer loyalty. The impression given by such a headline is not that most people are price sensitive (we don’t need research to tell us this), but that price is the MOST IMPORTANT factor when deciding which online store to buy from.

Personally, I find this nonsense. It is true that for some people price is the most important factor, but not ALL people. This is simply a matter of segmentation.

What do you think about this? Guys, need some feedback from you on this topic.

How to create credibility?

Guys today I had a small discussion with a fellow friend at my office. We talk casual until to a point we arrive at this topic. (great world, we did discuss about other things but I could relate that to online business . . . .that is the beauty of knowledge).

So the question is How? Well in summary I will point them out here.

It got to be a win-win situation, or else you will end up losing. On the internet where the communication is instant, if your reputation sours, your going to hide somewhere!

Okay these are few points for you to think about:

  1. Socializing Power - Social power is basically your ability to interact effectively with people and to bring the best out of them. If you could interact, socialize, negotiate and communicate, you are pretty much basing your credibility on this socializing power. My advise is do not overdo it, so watch the balance.
  2. Expert Power - This is a kind of power to those who have a combination of legitimate and information power. They are experts in the field for an extensive area of knowledge. So people tend to respect them. So we must be one. Be an expert in our field by providing lots of information to subscribers. This is the way to go, and if you are the kind that likes to read voraciously, then internet marketing is definitely your cup of tea! And my advise is always be humble when you share your knowledge. Respect other views too. As I said it must be a win-win situation.
  3. Information Power - You are the owner of the knowledge. Your are the expert and know the secret to the knowledge or information. I would advise that if you are an information power holder or guardian, keep upgrading your information sources and your power will grow into expert power.
  4. Legitimate Power - This is what I called an Executive Power. When you are in a formal position of authority, your have legitimate power. As a chairman of a board of directors, you have legitimate power. As a coach or trainer, you have legitimate power. This power will create your credibility, but do not assume that just because you are a boss to 10,000 people, that others will automatically listen to you. Just be careful with this power.
  5. Coercive Power - This is where we must be extra careful. Here is one example. One day, my staff were scolded over the phone by an unreasonable customer. My subordinate heard about it and called the other guy to reason with him and ended up being insulted instead. So in return, my subordinate shouted at him to stop victimizing other people just to get a rise from them. If your coercive power is directed to protect those under your care, your credibility soars!
  6. Reward Power - If I gave you $100, would you like me more? Most probably but not if I gave everyone else $500. Reward power has an issue in that you need to be FAIR. So as an internet marketers, we give out a ton of FREE bonuses, win clients over, then help to build a long term relationship with them. Do beware, such power is only externally motivating and does not always help in a long term relationship. It is just the beginning!

The dawn of new era in Selangor

This is the head line in a newspaper today. Certainly it is a new era in my state Selangor. After the General Election 2008 on March 8, we in Selangor will have a new government, a new Menteri Besar or Chief Minister, a new state assemblymen, a new local council and many new things in Selangor.

Yesterday in a quite Sunday morning, I smell a new wind scent which blowing inside my window. It is a new wind that take Selangor by surprised of many. I think it is not only the coalition are surprised but also the opposition. This is the true democracy in Malaysia. Government change hands via the ballot boxes.

This is what we want in Malaysia. People will decides via a ballot box.

It is reported in a newspaper today that “The new MB will appoint new people. My take is that all the existing councillors in the Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) and Subang Jaya Town Council (MPSJ) will be removed, and there are good chances that the new councillors appointed are those who live within the constituencies,” said Derek Fernandez, an expert in local government and town planning law.

Read the full report here at http://thestar.com.my/news/

Who is going to be Selangor new Mentri Besar? All will be answered today at 2pm local time.

This is the outcome of the March 8, Malaysia General Election 2008. The coalition still won to form a new government with a simple majority in the parliament and in the process they lost 4 states, that is Penang, Kedah, Perak and Selangor to the Opposition parties. So in overall, the Oppositions are controlling 5 states including Kelantan which they won hands down to bring a big shame to the Coalition after the Coalition said that this time they will “capture” and “to clean” Kelantan after spending so much effort and money. The Coalition concentrate too much on Kelantan and in the process they forgot to hold other states stronger. This time around what people are saying the “Political Tsunami” struck Malaysia in the 12th General Election.

Malaysians decide General Election 2008

Yesterday Malaysians do come out to serve their rights to vote and the result shows that the Peoples already decide.

The Barisan Nasional or National Front or the Coalition will form the next Government as it has won more than half the parliamentary seats with a simple majority. However, the coalition suffered some of the greatest defeats in its history. Barisan Nasional chairman Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, in accepting the results, said this was clear proof of democracy at work in the country.

Among the interesting results yesterday were:

  • The Barisan lost Kedah, Penang, Perak and Selangor,
  • PAS strengthened grip on Kelantan,
  • Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and Datuk Seri Ong Ka Ting won in their seats,
  • Among ministers who lost their seats were Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu, Datuk Seri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil, Datuk Seri Zainuddin Maidin,
  • Gerakan acting president Tan Sri Dr Koh Tsu Koon lost to Dr P. Ramasamy in the Batu Kawan parliamentary seat.

Meanwhile, party leaders urged for calm and police have banned all victory celebrations. As I said before the People’s Rules, the People is King and now the Politicians are the slave. They have to serve the People’s better now. The wind of change is a clear sign that the Peoples’ want better persons and government to represent them.

Yesterday at the ballot box, people listened to their heart with the firm conviction that the time for change has arrived. The people of Malaysia have spoken. This is a defining moment, unprecedented in Malaysian history.

Today a new chapter has opened. The people have voted decisively for a new era where the government must be truly inclusive and recognize that all Malaysians, regardless of race, culture and religion are a nation of one. The people have expressed in no uncertain terms that they want accountability, transparency and the rule of law. Today unity, consensus, and mutual respect triumphed. Tomorrow, we start working to build a brighter future, hand in hand, shoulder to shoulder. This is a new dawn for Malaysia. The People’s Rule.
